Privacy Policy · 私隱政策
DrainFix HK respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect when you use our website or service, how we use it, and your rights under HK Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO).
What we collect
We collect only the minimum needed to deliver service:
- From WhatsApp / phone enquiries: your name (or what you go by), phone number, address (for dispatch), nature of issue, photos you choose to send.
- From the website: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and does NOT use cookies, fingerprinting, or persistent identifiers. It records aggregate page-view counts and country (HK / non-HK) — nothing that identifies you personally. (See Cloudflare's privacy commitments.)
- From completed jobs: we keep CRM records (date, district, service performed, price, customer name + phone) for accounting + tax compliance + 7-day re-block guarantee tracking. No financial information beyond payment method.
- Payment data: we do not store credit card or bank details. We accept FPS, PayMe, Octopus, AlipayHK, WeChat Pay HK, cash, or bank transfer — all of which leave the financial data with the payment provider, not us.
How we use your data
Your data is used only for:
- Dispatching the service you asked for
- Following up on the 7-day re-block guarantee
- Producing receipts / tax invoices for your records
- Offering renewal / preventive service if you opted in (e.g. annual flush reminder)
- Weather-trigger alerts to opted-in customers ahead of HKO-issued storms
- HK accounting + tax compliance (legal requirement)
How long we keep it
- Active customer records: 2 years from last service (for 7-day guarantee + repeat-customer warmth)
- Tax / accounting records: 7 years (HK Inland Revenue requirement)
- WhatsApp message history: governed by WhatsApp's own retention (we don't archive separately)
- Photos you send us: deleted from our phone after job completion + receipt issuance, unless explicitly part of a documented job photo for the customer
Who has access
- The dispatcher / operator on your specific job (one person, the same person who messages and arrives)
- HK accounting service for tax filing (limited to invoice-level data, not personal)
- HK government if compelled by valid legal process (PDPO permits this)
That's it. No call centers, no offshored support, no data brokers.
Your rights under HK PDPO
Under HK PDPO you have the right to:
- Access your personal data we hold
- Correct data that is inaccurate
- Withdraw consent for any opt-in services (weather alerts, etc)
- Request deletion of data not legally required to retain (tax records must remain 7 years per HK law)
- Receive a copy of your records in a portable format
To exercise these rights, WhatsApp +852 4423 7445 or email [email protected] with subject "PDPO Data Request". We respond within 5 working days.
Cookies + tracking
This site uses NO cookies for tracking, advertising, or fingerprinting. The only cookies are essential ones (e.g. Cloudflare's bot-protection cookie if it serves on a request) — these don't identify you.
WhatsApp deep-links and `wa.me` URLs go to WhatsApp directly — see WhatsApp's privacy policy for what they collect.
Children
Our service is not directed at children under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. Parents / guardians who suspect this has happened can request deletion via the contact above.
Cross-border data transfer
Personal data we collect is stored in HK. The site itself is hosted on Cloudflare Pages with edge caching globally — but the static HTML doesn't contain personal data. Customer records (CRM, receipts) live on our local devices, not on third-party clouds.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices change (e.g. when we add Wati BSP for WhatsApp at scale). The "Last updated" date at top reflects this. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 14 days.
