About DrainFix HK
DrainFix HK is a Hong Kong blocked-drain specialist. We do one thing: clear blocked drains in HK homes and businesses — fast, at a fixed price, with a written guarantee.
This page is written for the customer whose toilet is backing up at midnight and is about to WhatsApp a stranger to come to their flat. We want you to know exactly who you are hiring and what you will get.
Why We Exist
Hong Kong's drain-unblocking trade has a reputation problem. We got tired of seeing three patterns:
- "Quote on arrival" — most blockages are predictable. Refusing to quote on the phone is usually a tactic to lock the customer in once the technician is on-site.
- "While I'm here" upsells — cleared in 15 minutes, then "your bathroom drain is also nearly blocked, HKD 500 to clear it too." Sometimes real, often a pressure tactic.
- Excessive emergency call-out surcharges — a fair HK night surcharge is HKD 150-300. Some technicians add HKD 500-1,000 as an "emergency surcharge."
So DrainFix HK does it differently:
- Phone quote, written confirmation. You know the price before we dispatch.
- Every receipt prints "on-site retest after job." If it blocks again, we come back as needed.
- Receipt + tax invoice always provided. Every job. For your records or landlord reimbursement.
- Photos before any extra work. If we find a separate issue, we photograph it and WhatsApp you a quote first. We only proceed after you authorise.
What We Actually Do
Blocked drains only. This is deliberate. Specialisation keeps our prices below full-service plumbers.
Our scope:
- Toilets, kitchens, bathrooms — augering, drain snakes, hot-water flushing, mechanical clearing
- Outdoor / lightwell / balcony / rooftop drains — debris clearing; severe cases handled with partners
- Air-conditioner condensate lines — compressed air + vinegar flush; a HKD 800, 10-15 minute job that other technicians often overcharge
- Restaurant grease traps + commercial drains — monthly contracts with FEHD-ready photo documentation
- Building shared main drains — through property-management contracts
- 24-hour emergency dispatch — same pricing + HKD 200 surcharge 11pm-6am
What We Don't Do
Equally important — and an area where many HK technicians are vague:
- No plumbing — pipe replacement, fittings, tap repair. These require a HK licensed plumber. We refer licensed plumbers.
- No appliance installation — toilets, sinks, showers. Outside our scope.
- No leak repair — leak detection is plumbing work, not drain clearing.
- No demolition / excavation — large-scale works need a main contractor.
- No kickbacks to property managers — this is illegal in HK and damages reputation when caught. We win on service quality, not hidden fees.
If we arrive and find the issue is actually plumbing, not a blockage, we tell you straight and refer a licensed plumber. We'd rather lose the job than work outside our competence.

120-minute arrival across HK Island + Kowloon + major NT districts (Sha Tin, Tai Po, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Tsuen Wan).
Further NT areas: 40-60 minutes. Tung Chung / Lantau / outlying islands are not currently served — we can refer local technicians.

Public, fixed, quoted on the phone. No surprises:
- Toilet: HKD 800
- Kitchen basic: HKD 800 / with grease trap: HKD 800+
- Bathroom: HKD 800
- Outdoor / lightwell: HKD 800+
- Night (11pm-6am): +HKD 200
- NT surcharge: +HKD 50
- Commercial / building shared drains: HKD 800-3,000 individual quote
